This 10 day Electric Vehicle Safari in Kenya will bring you closer to Kenya’s wildlife than ever before. Designed for the conscious traveler, this itinerary invites guests to explore Kenya’s private conservancies at the forefront of wildlife conservation – Lewa Conservancy, Ol Pejeta Conservancy and Entamato bordering the Masai Mara. The itinerary exclusively uses solar-powered electric safari vehicles that not only eliminate harmful fumes, but are almost completely silent meaning less disturbance for wildlife.

Day one – three

Arrive Jomo Kenyatta International Airport

Check in Lewa Wilderness Lodge

Your Electric Vehicle Safari in Kenya begins on arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport where a Ker & Downey® Africa representative will welcome you and accompany you to the nearby Wilson Airport. You will board a scheduled light aircraft to Lewa Wildlife Conservancy where you can enjoy a birds eye view of the ever-changing landscape below. Your guide will meet you and transfer you to Lewa Wilderness Lodge. Perched on the northern slopes of Mount Kenya, this homely lodge overlooks one of Kenya’s most successful conservation projects – Lewa Wildlife Conservancy. The conservancy is home to the Big 5 and, with only three vehicles permitted at one sighting, offers one of the most exclusive safari experiences in the country.

A wealth of activities awaits. Embark on day and night game drives in the lodge’s electric safari vehicles, and for the more adventurous, exhilarating horse riding safaris. You can also enjoy camel rides, guided walks alongside Maasai warriors and an adventurous treetop canopy walk in the nearby Ngare Ndare forest.

About Lewa Wilderness Lodge

Located on the northern slopes of Mount Kenya, Lewa Wilderness Lodge is an intimate and luxurious lodge that features nine charming cottages overlooking the valley below. The original farm house dates back to 1924 and offers guests a home away from with a tennis court, swimming pool and cozy seating areas throughout.

Transfer Ol Pejeta Conservancy

Check-in Ol Pejeta Bush Camp

After breakfast, your guide will meet you and accompany you to Ol Pejeta Conservancy in the heart of Laikipia County. This region is a pioneer in wildlife conservation. It is home to the two remaining northern white rhinos on the planet, and a number of endangered animals, that are protected around the clock by dedicated rangers. Here, you will stay at the eco-friendly Ol Pejeta Bush Camp. During your stay, you can explore the wildlife-rich area on game drives in electric safari vehicles as well as on foot alongside a qualified tracker. You can enjoy horse riding, cycling, and guided runs across the Ol Pejeta Plains in the predator-free area. For clients with a keen interest in conservation, you can join the research team in the field, as well as visit the Endangered Species Enclosure and Canine Anti-Poaching Unit.

After exhilarating days exploring Kenya’s wilderness, you can enjoy the camp’s culinary delights where ingredients are ethically sourced from a local women’s co-op and local farms.

About Ol Pejeta Bush Camp:

This eco-friendly luxury camp is located along the Ewaso Ngiro River, in the shadows of Mount Kenya. The camp features six authentic safari tents, each fitted with a private deck overlooking the active river banks. Guests can also enjoy the camp’s tented lounge, dining area and campfire.

Day seven – nine

Transfer to Masai Mara Game Reserve

Check-in Entumoto Private Safari Camp

Wake up and enjoy a refreshing breakfast at camp. Your guide will meet you and transfer you to the nearby Nanyuki Airstrip for your charter flight to Keekorok Airstrip. On touch down, you will be accompanied to Entumoto Safari Camp, a private luxury camp located on the southern border of Kenya’s iconic Masai Mara Game Reserve. Your tented canvas suite is decked out with all the creature comforts you might need during your stay, including a private verandah where wildlife can be seen passing by the camp. Your time at Entumoto can be spent exploring both the Mara and the unfenced private conservancy on daily game drives and guided nature walks. If you are traveling in and around July, you’ll stand a chance of getting closer to the Great Wildebeest Migration than ever before in a silent electric safari vehicle.

About Entumoto Safari Camp:

Located in the hills of the Rift Valley, this private tented safari camp offers guests an exclusive stay with breath-taking views of the Mara plains. The camp features seven tented suites each with its very own lounge area and fireplace. Although the camp has a private conservancy, it also offers direct access into the Masai Mara.
