This expertly crafted LuxVenture® trip has been designed to show you the very best of Egypt. From the stirring desert realms of Giza, to the lush riverbanks of the Nile, you’ll explore one of the oldest civilizations in the world with a dedicated Egyptologist by your side. Your journey begins in Cairo, and transports you to picturesque Aswan and onward, by boat, to Luxor. You will enjoy expertly guided tours of Cairo, the Great Pyramids of Giza, as well as six sought-after archeological sites dotted on the banks of the Nile River. In true Ker & Downey® Africa style, we have lined up exclusive access to a number of these temples and museums so you can skip the queues and discover Egypt’s ancient history in private.
Your Best of Egypt LuxVenture® starts on arrival at Cairo International Airport where a Ker & Downey® Africa representative will meet you and swiftly assist you through customs and immigration. From the airport, you will be transferred to the luxurious Kempinski Nile Hotel – a five-star hotel on the banks of the Nile River. In the afternoon, you can enjoy time at leisure at the hotel or take an easy stroll to experience the charm of Cairo firsthand. In the evening, enjoy a refreshing drink at the poolside bar overlooking the city and celebrate your first night in Egypt.
The next two days of your Best of Egypt LuxVenture® invite you to explore the historical treasures of Egypt’s capital. After breakfast, your dedicated Egyptologist guide will meet you for a day of adventure. Explore the Egyptian Museum, home to over 120,000 artifacts and King Tutankhamen’s golden treasures – the star attraction of this world-famous museum, before an expertly guided walking tour through Cairo to Khan El Khalil market. A highlight of your time in Cairo will be an excursion to see the Great Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx – the oldest known monumental sculpture in Egypt. After an authentic lunch in the desert, you can enjoy a peaceful camel ride across the sands of Giza, before returning to your hotel.
After a hearty breakfast, your guide will meet you and transfer you to the Cairo International Airport for your scheduled flight to Daraw Airport in Aswan. When you touch down, your Egyptologist guide will be waiting to accompany you to Philae Island to explore the 2,000 year old Temple of Isis – the goddess of love and passion. In the late afternoon, you will be transferred to the opulent Sofitel Legend Old Cataract Hotel on the banks of the Nile. A highlight of your time will be a leisurely felucca cruise down the Nile and around Elephantine Island at sunset – perfectly paired with a refreshing drink. Back at the hotel, you can make your way back to the hotel’s restaurant for dinner on the terrace overlooking Elephantine Island and Khnum Temple.
Located in the Nubian Desert on the banks of the Nile, the opulent Sofitel Legend Old Cataract Hotel dates back to 1902, and has played host to the likes of Agatha Christie. The guest room features marble bathrooms, French bath amenities, wireless Internet access, LCD televisions, and much more.
After breakfast, your guide will transfer you to Abu Simbel on the southern border of Egypt. This site is home to two impressive temples dedicated to Pharaoh Ramses the Second and his wife Nefertari. The giant statue has been standing for over 3,200 years and flanks the entrance to one of the most impressive temples in this country’s history. At midday, you will board the Sun Goddess for a luxurious 5-star cruise down the River Nile. Your cruise will take you to some of the most sought-after historical sites in Egypt including Kom Ombo Temple – home to crocodile mummies that are thousands of years old, the Temple of Horus in Edfu, the Valley of Kings, the Temple of Hatshepsut and Karnak – the largest religious complex ever built for a god. Your journey ends at Luxor, home to some of Egypt’s most significant surviving ancient monuments, temples and tombs.

Today marks the last day of your Best of Egypt LuxVenture®. After breakfast on board the HS Sun Goddess, you will disembark and be transferred to Luxor Airport for your scheduled flight home.
