Kilimanjaro International Airport

Check-in Siringit Villa by Mantis

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, a representative from Ker & Downey® Africa will welcome you and assist you with your transfer to Siringit Villa by Mantis, just outside the town of Arusha. Arusha is widely known as the gateway town to the northern safari circuit which includes the renowned Serengeti National Park. After you have checked in, you will have time to relax and enjoy the beautiful natural surroundings at the lodge. We highly recommend a walk along the golf course where the first nine tees border a stunning lake with small waterfalls. All throughout the property, you can enjoy spectacular views of the neighboring Mount Meru and Mount Kilimanjaro.

Where you’ll stay: Siringit Villa by Mantis

This elegant 6 bedroom luxury villa is situated on the first and only 18-hole golf course in Tanzania and has been carefully created to provide an unrivaled guest experience. The villa, which can be booked exclusively, comprises luxurious bedrooms with wooden decks overlooking the picturesque Kilimanjaro Golf and Wildlife Estate.

Transfer Lake Manyara National Park

Check-in Gibb’s Farm

After a delicious made-to-order breakfast from Chef Alex and his team, you will check out and take a scenic 1.5 hours drive to Lake Manyara National Park. No northern circuit safari trip would be complete without a visit to the famous alkaline lake at Manyara. Here, amongst grassy floodplains, rocky outcrops and acacia woodlands, you might be lucky enough to spot the legendary tree-climbing lions. Enjoy a picnic-style lunch on the lake’s north western shore with fabulous views of the vast flocks of pink-hued flamingos along the shore line. After lunch, you will be transferred from Lake Manyara to Gibbs Farm – the first XO Private accredited property in this itinerary. Upon arrival, you will have the chance to immerse yourself in the rhythms of the farm and enjoy a sense of tranquility and well-being. Enjoy an extraordinary candle light dinner made up of delicious organic dishes and hearty farm fare. The following day, you will embark on a half day trip to experience the famous Ngorongoro Crater. This includes a Crater descent and a game drive in this pristine wildlife-rich region. In the afternoon, enjoy Arabica coffee grown and roasted on the farm accompanied by scones and other organic goods. Other activities include a unique two-hour walking safari through the forested slopes of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area to see the spectacular elephant caves.

Gibb’s Farm is a luxury lodge situated on a picturesque coffee estate on the forested slopes of the Ngorongoro Crater. This award-winning property has 17 refurbished private cottages and 2 farm houses, all with open fireplaces, and indoor and outdoor showers.

Transfer Manyara airstrip

Check-in Mwiba Camp

After a farm-style breakfast consisting of organic fruits and freshly baked pastries, you will be transferred to the local airstrip in Manyara. Here, you will board your scheduled light aircraft flight to your next destination in the Serengeti – the Mwiba Camp. Visitors to Mwiba enjoy complete privacy, a rarity in this wildlife mecca. The lodge is situated by the Arugusinyai River and provides magnificent vistas and frequent opportunities for observing the area’s rich wildlife. Guests can indulge in a safari at their own pace; the expert guides and staff are here to craft a stay that is catered to your personal desires. Dance with the Datoga, a tribe with a lifestyle similar to the Maasai, or explore the wild wonders of the area on foot with walking safaris.
