On this extraordinary once-in-a-lifetime bucket list trip to Antarctica, discerning adventurers will have the unique opportunity to fly from Cape Town, South Africa to experience the world’s largest and driest desert – in one day. Here, surrounded by mile high monoliths of white rock and ice, as well as some of the most dramatic views in the world, guests will experience first-hand the landscape that has long lured travelers and explorers from across the globe.
Prior to departure, you will receive a full safety briefing at The Silo Hotel in Cape Town. The experienced staff will go through all kit requirements, weather forecasts and answer any final questions you might have. You will also get to meet your fellow travelers that are joining on this unforgettable journey.
The following day, you will leave Cape Town in the comfort of a Gulfstream 6550 jet soaring over 2,640 miles of icebergs floating in the Southern Ocean. The flight will take you through the dark African night into 24 hours of continuous sunshine. After a mere 5-hour flight you will touch down in Antarctica on the famous Wolf’s Fang Runway – a runway made entirely of ice. Here, you will be surrounded by extraordinary mile high monoliths of white rock, rising from the barren, icy landscape.
As you exit your jet, you will embark on a gentle hike with experienced polar guides to the base of the nearby Nunatak mountain where you will enjoy a champagne picnic with unrivaled views of the stark landscape. Your qualified mountain guides will then escort you to the summit of the mountain where you can take unrivaled pictures for your adventure bucket list. If you would prefer not to hike, there is also the option to ride on a fat bike or join a 4×4 safari over the ice on specially-prepared trails.
