Situated above the Chobe River, Sanctuary’s Chobe Chilwero Lodge is a luxurious riverside safari escape in the heart of the bushveld on the edge of the Chobe National Park. The lodge boasts unrivaled vistas across the floodplains and islands as far across as Namibia and epitomizes Sanctuary Retreat’s philosophy of “luxury, naturally.”
Chobe Chilwero offers a unique combination of activities in a special corner of northern Botswana that is home to the largest population of elephants left in Africa. Morning and afternoon game drives in search of the area’s predators are a standard affair, a sundowner cruise in a specially designed riverboat is a great way of seeing buffalo up close, and photographic safari cruises in a new safari boat that can seat up to 18 guests and features 360 degree swivel seats are a wildlife photographer’s dream. The lodge also caters for children of all ages, with a host of children’s programs and activities to keep them entertained.
The lodge is extremely luxurious, with only 14 suites and one Pool suite. Each of the 14 suites has an ensuite bathroom featuring a large free-standing bath and separate rain shower. Guests can treat themselves to a cocktail in their own private garden and three of the suites have an extra bedroom, making them perfect for families. The Pool suite boasts a private plunge pool and private deck. Make the most of a split-level swimming pool, unwind with an indulgent spa treatment or feast on the gourmet cuisine for which the lodge has become renowned for.
