The safari adventure begins (and ends) in the town of Maun – also known as the gateway to the Okavango Delta. On your safari, you will be transported to 3 iconic destinations in Botswana: Makgadikgadi Salt Pans, Khwai Private Reserve, and the Okavango Delta. You will experience a treehouse-style sleep out at the brand new, Duke’s Camp. Your first stop will be at Jack’s Camp located in the Makgadikgadi Salt Pans. Jack’s Camp recently reopened after an extensive refurbishment and is considered one of the best camps in Botswana. It also happens to be in the path of the second biggest migration of zebra and wildebeest in Africa. The next location is Tuludi Camp in the Khwai Private Reserve, The final camp, Duke’s, opened in mid-2022 and is a permanent camp in the north of the famous Okavango Delta – a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The stay at Duke’s Camp ends with an overnight stay in a unique Sky Suite – a luxurious platform 4 meters above the ground. This itinerary proudly includes the very best of culture, game viewing, exhilarating activities and unique accommodation.

Fly to a private concession in the northern Okavango Delta

Check in at the brand new and exclusive Duke’s Camp

In the morning, you will enjoy a morning game experience. Thereafter transfer back to the local airstrip before boarding a light aircraft flight to a private concession in the northern Okavango Delta, renowned for its game-rich plains. The brand new and exclusive Duke’s Camp is located on the shores of a permanent lagoon so you are finishing on a high with unparalleled game viewing and extraordinary views between the camp’s indigenous leadwood and ebony trees. As the sun sets, flickering lanterns come alive to guide you along the raised wooden platform to your luxurious tent. Though Duke’s Camp is open all year round, you will only be able to partake in mokoro and boat activities from April to October. Exceptional land-based game viewing occurs all year with large herds of elephants and plains game making their way across the crystalline waters. During the warmer summer months we highly recommend guided bush walks, as well as spending some time enjoying the over 440 bird species that call this region of the Delta home. Night game drives are also on offer, allowing you to view remarkable nocturnal carnivores including serval and caracal. This is the ultimate lodge for this safari to Botswana.

Where you’ll stay: Dukes Camp, Okavango Delta

Sister camp to Jack’s Camp, Duke’s camp is one of the newest camps to open in the Okavango Delta set on a vast concession rich in game and natural beauty. 8 luxurious safari tents are pitched on raised wooden decks overlooking the seasonal laoon and floodplains, offering an unforgettable under-canvas adventure. A further 4 tents will be built in March 2023. The main areas at Duke’s include a Persian tea-tent, communal dining tent and comfortable lounge.
